The way we work our land is a learned behavior. People that use backhoes on wet soil to clear the land, dump diesel on green, massive piles of fallen trees to get them to burn, etc....these people are only doing what they've been taught to do for generations. In the last few decades, we have come to learn these actions are destructive and not sustainable. Especially when applied en masse by denser human populations. So, when we call out certain landowners that are still being destructive, the question should be not do they have the right to be destructive on their land, but rather, can they be taught a better approach? The answer is yes, because most landowners really do want to do what's best...BECAUSE it is their land.
