When clearing, newly emerging woody plants that are favorites among the deer do need protection. Dropping branches as shown below to camouflage tiny plants will provide a quick fix, but will eventually need greater protection. The plants being protected in this group are cedar elm, Texas red oak and Eve's necklace.
